Star of The Month! Mabel Opoku-Preach

The director of the famous Theatre Show “One Day on The SoulTrain”, is TopAfric Star of The Month, the young Hamburger is making Africans in Germany very proud. She has on many occasions represented the state of Hamburg as aTtheater Expert. This has taken her to the United States of America, South Africa, Denmark and many other countries.

Who is Mabel?
She was brought up in a pastoral family, came to Hamburg at the age of 7 with her parents. Her mother Madam Joyce Opoku and father Pastor Antwi Opoku, were very instrumental in bringing the Ghana Methodist Church to Germany.


With her knowledge in Flemish, she had it smooth integrating into the German school system. She first trained as a Writer (Texterin), then after, proceeded to study Media Communication. She worked as a Manager at A&R, Tshak-K-Boom Records and Pirates Record for a short period.

Social Responsibilities:
Mabel  has always enjoyed working with the youth. She financed her tertiary education mostly by working on youth projects. At the “Huas der Jugend”, she taught Dancing and Drama.

 

She has been working for “Hajusom” for years, a project designed to aid young unaccompanied asylum seekers in Hamburg. She also worked with and for “Baner 16”. Artist with Special Abilities that Mabel is, she has directed and continues to direct Dance Theatre Shows.

Lukulule: 
The young lady is a founding member of the popular “Lukulule”. The main objective is helping discover talents, shaping them and putting requisite measures in place to aiding their exposure.

 

Her group that performed “The One Day on The Soul Train” at the Fliegende Bauten in Hamburg is on a national tour. Their next stop is KampNagel –Hamburg in May 2013.

 

Mrs. Opoku-Preach is married and has a son. Her greatest wish is seeing a couple of her young talents becoming super stars in the nearest future.
