Hamburg Ignited -A Night of Borga Highlife

Hamburg came alive with African music, culture and celebration as the Borga Highlife event filled the Kampnagel event hall with excitement and energy. The venue was packed with people from different backgrounds, all brought together by their love for Highlife music and African culture.

From the moment guests arrived, there was a feeling of joy and togetherness. Friends greeted each other with warm smiles, while first-time visitors quickly became part of the celebration. Colourful African decorations gave the hall a welcoming atmosphere and set the stage for an unforgettable night.

As the music began, the dance floor came alive. Nii Armah from Hannover and his band delivered an outstanding performance. Their excellent musicianship and lively stage presence kept the audience dancing and singing along. Every song added to the excitement and reminded everyone why Highlife music remains one of Africa's greatest musical treasures.

One of the biggest highlights of the evening was Ekow Larbi, who travelled all the way from Ghana to perform. Watching him on stage was a real pleasure. He performed with incredible energy from start to finish. Looking at him, I could not help thinking that, at his age, he was probably fitter than I am. His performance proved that passion, experience and good health can light up any stage.

Another performer who impressed the audience was KB, one of Hamburg's rising stars. She has a natural gift for entertaining. She can dance with confidence, sing beautifully and knows how to connect with her audience. Her stage presence is exciting and full of life. She has all the talent needed to become a major star. What she needs now is discipline, commitment and dedication. If she stays focused and continues to develop her talent, there is no limit to how far she can go.

The event also offered complimentary drinks, giving guests the chance to enjoy a wide selection of beverages throughout the evening. The bar remained busy as people relaxed, chatted and celebrated together.

The food was another major attraction. Guests enjoyed delicious African dishes that reflected the rich flavours of the continent. From tasty jollof rice to perfectly grilled meat and other traditional meals, every dish reminded people of home. The wonderful aroma from the food stalls drew people back for second helpings.

The stylish outfits worn by many guests added colour and elegance to the evening., So Isaac Junior of Revamp Fame took to the stage and lifted the atmosphere even higher. His energetic keyboard performance kept the crowd on its feet.

For me, one unexpected moment made the evening even more enjoyable. My phone battery died early in the night. At first, I was disappointed. Then I realised it was a blessing. Without checking messages or social media, I was free to enjoy every moment. I danced more, talked to more people and focused on the experience instead of taking photos.

The event was also a great place for networking. People met old friends, made new connections and exchanged ideas. Many conversations led to new friendships and plans for future collaborations. Events like Borga Highlife show that music can bring people together in ways that go far beyond entertainment.

The beautiful summer weather made the evening even more enjoyable. The warm air and gentle breeze created the perfect setting for a celebration that lasted late into the night.

Alexandra Antwi-Boasiako served as the event's moderator, commanding the room in a stunning, traditional Fugu garment while delivering an absolutely fantastic performance.

Kampnagel has become closely linked with Mabel Preach, who has played a major role in promoting African entertainment in Hamburg for more than twenty years. Her hard work and commitment have helped create a platform where African music, culture and talent can continue to shine.

Borga Highlife was much more than a concert. It was a celebration of African identity, culture and unity. It reminded everyone of the power of music to bring people together, no matter where they come from.

As the evening came to an end, the music slowly faded, but the memories remained. Guests left with smiles on their faces, new friendships and unforgettable experiences. Hamburg was full of life that night, and the spirit of togetherness made the event truly special.
