Free and fair elections are the foundation upon which strong democracy thrives. It ensures that communities derive their powers from the will of the people. Ghanaians in Hamburg has in the past been conducting flawless elections, leading to stability, peace and growth.
The Community in Hamburg is conducting a general election on Saturday, the 30th of October 2021 to elect/endorse new executive members for the Ghana Union. The event is taking place at “International Christengemeinde” (Pastor Wulff‘s Church) Überseering 21, Plz 22297 Hamburg. It is strictly a two hours program. 17.00 – 19-.00 Hours.
We are asking all Ghanaians in Hamburg; community leaders, professionals, artisans, religious leaders, ethnic and youth leaders to avail themselves and make their votes count. Together, we can shape and propel our community.
The following Ghana Union Executive positions are to be contested for:
President, Vice President, General Secretary, Vice General Secretary, Welfare Secretary, Financial Secretary, Youth Organizer, Organizing Secretary and Women Organizer.Responsibilities:
To support the social and economic welfare of Ghanaians in Hamburg.
To provide the needed leadership for economic growth.
To stimulate the spirit of patriotism amongst Ghanaians living in Hamburg.
To encourage networking amongst Ghanaian institutions home and abroad.
To serve as a mouthpiece of the Ghana Community.
To promote Ghanaian businesses in Hamburg.The following committee members will be appointed on the day of the event;
Advisory Board, Adjudicative Board on Community Affairs, Internal Audit Board and Membership Drive. Youth Committee, Communication Team, Electoral Committee and Fundraising Committee.
