Hohenhorst is a suburb of Hamburg with a population of about 12,000, from over 30 different countries. The settlement was incorporated in the 60s and located in the eastern corner of the city, sharing borders with Jenfeld and Rahlstedt.
In 2011, the AG Integration was founded with the aim of speeding integration and promoting coexistence among inhabitants.
The African Day / Afrikantag is to showcase the rich culture of its citizens, especially those from West Africa, with more emphasis
on Ghanaians as they are the majority in the suburb.
The organizer as are inviting the general public, the event is going to be fantastic and diverse (Fashion show, live music or film) – Yes! for all who want to know more about the diversity of Africa, or just feel like experiencing something different for the weekend!
Opening ceremony shall be done by Otto Addo, former international soccer star and Nationalspieler player Ghana.
Djante Bi group and Deyon Martins the German based Nigeria artist are expected to perform.
DJ ARTHUR shall be in the dj box, star actress Dayan Kodua and Irene Appiah, from the „Bildungsbehörde“ and „Bildung ohne Grenzen“ are the moderators.
