Ghanaians in Hamburg to Celebrate 1st Anniversary for their Queen -“Mmabaawahemaa”

 

Chieftaincy institution in Ghana has become the center of attraction for other chieftaincies worldwide. It commands great respect and great authority in society. Fact is, chiefs and queens are no longer only the custodians of culture, customary laws and traditions, but responsible for bringing developments to their people, maintain law and order, promoting unity and peace, and bringing progress to communities, villages, towns and cities.

In 2015, Ghanaians in Hamburg saw the need to enstool an industrious and energetic lady in the person of Apisim Nana Agyeiwaa Kodie Bresiam I as the “Mmabaawahemaa”. Within a scope of one year, the newly enstooled queen has formed the Ghana Women Association in Hamburg, an NGO with the main aim of empowering Ghanaian women in Hamburg and her immediate environment. Working with youth movements, mobilizing women, pro-active in educational, health and community related activities.

Yes, a leader must have vision and propel her community and subjects to success.

The people of Tepa Traditional Area in Asante Region of Ghana seeing the unique qualities in their daughter, on the 29th of February 2016 enstool Nana Agyeiwaa as their Apesemkahemaa.

Well, a year is only 365 days! Ghanaians in Hamburg are celebrating Nana’s one year anniversary in a grand style.

On Sunday, the 2nd of October 2016, the 1st Anniversary Enstoolment activities begins with a Thanksgiving Service at the Ghana Catholic in Hamburg (St. Sophien Kirche) at the Weidestr. 53, 22083 Hamburg. The service starts at 12.30 and closes at 15.00 German Time. Officiating pastor is Rev Father Anthony Amoako-Attah. The dress code is white.

Between the hours of 16.00 to 19.00 there will be refreshment at the Alter Teichweg Park, there will be enough to eat and drink, all invited guests are expected to attend in traditional wear.

Then after there is going to be a grand durbar of chiefs and queens at the Kulturschloss Wandsbek, Königsreihe 4, 22041 Hamburg, close to Malata Markt. There will be a cultural display by “Mponua Firi Tete Cultural Group”
